Sheila Carey

Practice Nurse, (R.G.N, R.M, Hip Dip in Practice Nursing)

Sheila went to school locally in Dromiskin NS and St. Vincents Secondary school, Dundalk. She completed her nursing training in St. Vincent’s Hospital, Dublin in 1994 and moved to Our Lady Of Lourdes Hospital in 1996 to study Midwifery. After travelling and working in Australia she took up a post as a staff midwife on the labour ward, Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda. In 2002 she joined a busy GP  Practice in Wheaton Hall  Drogheda where she developed a keen interest in chronic disease, especially diabetes, heart disease and asthma. Other areas of interest include womens health, immunizations and health promotion. In 2015 Sheila won the ICGP Quality in Practice award for her work in diabetes prevention. Sheila joined Blackrock Medical Centre January 2018 and lives locally with her family. Sheila has a keen interest in Ploughing, St.Joesphs LGFA and Cos Ceol Irish dancing.
