Medbh Burns

Medbh qualified as a registered nurse in 2002 in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital Drogheda, she worked on a variety of Medical, Surgical and Paediatric wards prior to settling into Theatre & Anaesthesia as a surgical scrub nurse. During this time, Medbh developed a keen interest in Obstetrics & Gynaecology. Medbh then undertook her postgraduate training in Midwifery & Women’s Health at Trinity College where she qualified in 2007. Medbh staffed as a Midwife in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital Drogheda for many years; she has vast experience and knowledge in Ante-Natal, Post-Natal and Intra-Partum Care. She is hugely passionate about informing, educating, and empowering women through this time. Becoming a busy mother to four children, Medbh then moved from the hospital setting into GP practice in 2013 where the role of Practice Nurse/Midwife allows her to utilise all her skills in one setting. Her dedication to Women’s Health now extends to her work in Clermont Health’s Aesthetic Clinic for which she has trained in procedural work to help women look and feel their best. She is a member of DANAI (Dermatology Aesthetic Nurse Association Ireland). When not at work or looking after her four children and two dogs Medbh is a huge musical theatre enthusiast. Medbh is a keen singer and an active member of Dundalk’s very own S.O.N.G groupDundalk Musical Society. So keep an eye out for their next show/concert. Medbh is also currently undertaking her Musical Theatre Grades through the Royal Irish Academy of Music.
